Skins & Scales Does your tongue help you smell?  A snake's does! Explore the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians and learn how you can help protect them and their habitats. ZooKids classes are a great way for children age 4-5 to have a fun and educational adventure at the zoo.  Each program includes a mini zoo tour, craft, games, animal close-up, and snack.  Classes are designed for children to participate independently.  Parents are not permitted to stay with their children.   FAQs Drop off:  Class begins at 9:30 am.  There are two possible drop-off points for ZooKids:  Lower Entrance (near the Education center and Children's Zoo) and Main Entrance (near the café and gift shop).  The location for drop off depends on the class schedule each month. The confirmation email (sent immediately after your register) and the reminder email (send the Thursday before each class) will have the specific drop off location. There will also be directional signage as your enter Knowland Park. Pick up: Class ends at 12:00pm.  All ZooKids classes finish at the Lower Entrance, inside Maddie's Center for Science and Environmental Education.  Let the ticket booth cashier know you are picking up a ZooKids participant and they will direct you to the Education courtyard. Please allow extra time for pick-up. The zoo is very busy in the afternoons. Parents/Chaperones:  A parent or chaperone is required to introduce themselves and their child to the ZooKids instructors. Once the child is signed into the class, adults are free to go.  A parent or chaperone is required to come into the education center to sign out their child.  These classes are designed for children to participate independently.
