Cinnabar Theater History -
The Cinnabar Theater was founded by Marvin and Jan Klebe in 1970. They purchased an old schoolhouse in the outskirts of Petaluma with the vision to establish a space where community members could collaborate and experiment in the performing arts. In 1983, the two-roomed 1908 theater expanded. A studio was added in 1988 to conduct educational theater programs.
Cinnabar Theater Shows -
Dramatic operas, musicals and plays take center stage at the Cinnabar Theater. The professional season at the Cinnabar Theater is packed with a full line-up of shows including The Importance of Being Ernest, Cabaret, An Ideal Husband and The Traviata.Other events of interest that take place near the Cinnabar Theater include Petaluma's exciting Summer Music Festival and the Chili Cook-off. Cinnabar Theater also plays host to Heritage Music Theater shows.
Sonoma County Young Repertory Theater -
The Young Repertory Theater at the Cinnabar Theater seeks to foster understanding and appreciation of the performing arts. Since 1983, the Young Repertory Theater has put on a variety of drama classes, arts education programs and summer camps to inspire budding theater minds. Sonoma County youth aged 4 to 18 are welcome to audition.
